Recently since I've been in college I've started using Microsoft Word more, because honestly before I never really used it. In high school my school was an Apple school so we pretty much used all the apple apps that went along with it so I got really good with Pages and Keynote. I think for right now I do prefer that just because I know how to use it better than Word because I've been using it for longer. I also really like Google Docs I thinks it's very User friendly and easy to work with. So honestly at this moment I prefer Pages or Google docs over Word, but my Word skills are improving every time I use them.

The ITSE standard I chose is 2.4 Collaborator. I chose this one because as an educator collaboration is key not only with the students in your class, but your administration, and colleagues as well. This standard is broken down into 4 parts The first one is making sure you set aside planning time with colleagues in order to better the technology use in the classroom. The second one is collaborating and learning with your students as well as trouble shooting any problems that come up. The third one uses real word experiences to better your students learning abilities by using technology and virtual resources. Finally the last one is being able to Culturally communicated and understand your students, their parents, your colleagues and others.

Honestly I do agree with the term "digital native" for my generation. We have all grown up with technology, most of us have had technology access since we were in elementary school. I think it honesty describes younger kids now better, they have had access to iPads and tablets since they were toddlers. On another note though, I have seen a difference between how us "digital natives" use technology, and "digital immigrants" use technology. I think sometimes because a lot of this technology is new for teachers they are slower and not exactly sure how to use it. For example, In my Intro to Education class last week, my teacher who is this sweet older woman could not figure out how to work a link that was included in her powerpoint. She probably worked on for about 7 minutes and then asked someone in my class to come over and help her and they were able to get it in less than a minute. I just think my generation is just so use  to technology it comes naturally to us now.

I had never really learned what badges were till this week. I think it's a great reward system because we all need a gold star or a round of applause sometimes. Learning about them unlocked a memory of how Snapchat used to give out badges after you completed whatever task, and you could go and look at all your "trophies". Educational wise and other than that I have never earned a badge before but I'm excited to  in this class! Personally I never really shared my badges just because it was from snapchat and I just felt as if it wasn't really like a big deal, and I guess they were not because they ended up getting rid of them. I think for this class though I will definitely share my badges as a sense of accomplishment for my work.
